Last Exile

Anoi Desako does not question his place in the Monastery or the striking markings that cover his body—runes he can not read.  But after a violent attack on his secluded home, His monastic life vanishes and he is left suddenly alone, without hovering protection or the life he once treasured.

Thrust into a war-ravaged world, a world where Anoi learns of the War Lord Enon Zies; who is attempting to enslave it with the Heretic virus.  Melding men and machines together in a fusion of grotesque amalgamations, Zies weaves terror and chaos through the land. He seeks the embodiment of the Goddess, the Avatar, to ignite a machine of immense destruction.  This search leads him closer and closer to Anoi.

Anoi must come to terms with his burgeoning power, a power denied for so long, forced behind the Monastery’s fears.  He must learn to accept that his Will may be secondary to the Will of the people, the Will of the Goddess.  But beneath all this is an urge.  A dark urge to seek revenge.

A puzzle waits to become whole, yet not by Anoi’s hand alone.  Seeking those scattered by war and destruction he will gather their pieces and move their versions of the world together into resounding glory; be it destruction or restoration.
